It is an adventure first of all for RA, why not also for Russia and Iran?
Such a contract cannot protect RA in case of possible external aggression.
The best vivid example of this is Georgia and Ukraine.
Georgia signed a similar agreement with the USA back in 2009 between Condoleezza Rice and Grigol Vashadze.
The charter had 5 sections: 1. Principles of partnership (7 points), Cooperation in the fields of defense and security (4 points),
Cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and energy (3 points), Strengthening of democracy (5 points), Expansion of interpersonal and cultural exchanges (3 points).
What did Georgia get out of it?
Almost nothing.
This increased the problems with the Russian Federation and under the leadership of Saakashvili, Anti-Russia was formed from Georgia.
The situation in Georgia began to show signs of recovery only after the removal of Saakashvili.
Even with the help of the West, Georgia could not bring back its lost Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The next example is Ukraine.
The contract with Ukraine was signed in 2021.
The agreement with Ukraine is called the Charter on Strategic Partnership between the USA and Ukraine.
In the same year, the two states also adopted a Strategic Defense Plan.
By the way, СВО started just three months after this Charter was signed by Blinken and Kuleba in Washington.
Plans to:
- recognition of the principles of sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, inviolability of borders, democracy, rule of law,
- "Strong, independent, democratic, capable of defending itself" Ukraine will contribute not only to its security, but also to the security of Europe.
Section 2 of the Charter is entitled: Security and Countering Russian Aggression.
What did Ukraine get out of it?
The country became a big war front with hundreds of thousands of victims.
Ukraine lost Donbass and other important territories.
The Biden administration of the USA together with Zelensky made Ukraine a big training ground.
And today the peaceful future of the state of Ukraine is already under question.
In fact, the pro-Western dance of the Nicholas regime led to a change in the foreign political vector of RA.
Threats will not decrease, they are likely to increase.
No western soldiers will come to protect the security of Armenia.
The West needs RA to become anti-Russia and anti-Iran.
After this agreement, it is likely that RA's rear will be opened in case of possible Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression.
And in case of a possible US-Iran conflict, signing such an agreement with the US will cause serious problems for RA.
In such a mixed geopolitical situation, spoiling the relations with the Russian Federation and Iran is simply stupid.
Who will protect RA in case of possible aggression?
The West?
100 years ago, we placed our hopes on the beautiful promises of the West and welcomed the Turks in the streets of Yerevan.
At that time, Armenia was cleansed of the Turkish military presence only thanks to Sovietization.
What will happen now...
Pashinyan's steps will only provoke Iran and Russia, instead we get another propaganda bubble and unrealistic expectations.
