As a result of a series of criminal proceedings under investigation in the investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee of Yerevan city, as a result of measures undertaken jointly with the police officers of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, factual information was obtained that a number of people illegally keep weapons and ammunition with them, in their vehicles and in their places of residence.
Large-scale investigative and operational operations were carried out to detect illegal weapons and ammunition in civilian circulation, in particular, on November 5, 2025, searches were conducted at many (about 6 dozen) addresses, during which various types of weapons, drugs, and other objects were found and seized.
During the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings, around 3 dozen people were arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal weapons and ammunition, as well as narcotics.
The RA Investigative Committee will be consistent in identifying and confiscating illegal weapons and ammunition in civilian circulation, so we urge the public to voluntarily hand over the illegally stored ammunition to the law enforcement agencies.
At the same time, we remind you that until the competent authorities learn about the location of illegal weapons and ammunition, the person who handed them over is released from criminal responsibility.
