Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called on the United States to withdraw its troops from the Middle East.
"Our armed forces will not leave any attack or threat unanswered. Leave our region if you want to be safe," he wrote in X.
Earlier, the US Central Command announced strikes against Iran, after the American Apache helicopter was shot down in the Strait of Hormuz.
In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (an elite unit of Iran's armed forces) attacked American bases in the Middle East.
