The renowned toastmaster is the only candidate for the head of the YSU department. Aravot.am

YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan has signed an order on appointing and holding a competitive selection of YSU department heads. The Department of Print and Broadcast Media of the YSU Faculty of Journalism has not had a head since November 2021, and now the only candidate is Taron Danielyan, an hourly-paid lecturer at the Department of New Media and Communication, Candidate of Philological Sciences. The latter is a well-known master of ceremonies, toastmaster. There are numerous videos of wedding and other ceremonies he has conducted.

Aravot.amcontacted Taron Danielyan.

“We asked him if he would be able to combine his activities as a master of ceremonies with teaching and leading the department if he were elected as the head of the department. “In previous years, I have also been a master of ceremonies and have 42 scientific articles, 11 of which have been published in scientific journals, which are included in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. Mastering ceremonies has not prevented me from doing science. If I am elected, perhaps the work of master of ceremonies will remain "on Saturdays and Sundays," said our interlocutor.

He also noted that he was not aware of why he was the only candidate. By the way, the YSU lecturers and teaching staff were not properly informed about when the competition would be held, they were not even informed internally during the department meetings, and in order to find out about it, unlike previous years, now the lecturer has to dig through the YSU website for a long time, while previously any new information was in the visible part of the website.

We asked Taron Danielyan if he had entered the classroom at the YSU Faculty of Journalism.

He said that he taught for an hourly fee with a small workload, and before that he was a member of the university's professional council for the defense of candidates, a member of the 012 Literary Studies Council in the field of journalism, and also works at Vanadzor State University named after Hovhannes Tumanyan.

"Last year at YSU we won a grant program from the Higher Education and Science Committee, we created a scientific group, we are working within the group, even 3 articles are ready, thank God a positive conclusion was received," the website wrote.
