"On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, we bow to the heroism of millions of people who saved the world from fascism at the cost of incredible efforts. The victory of 1945 was not only a military victory. It was based on a new international system based on the peaceful coexistence and equality of peoples, as well as the principles of respect for the sovereignty of states. Its importance is multifaceted and covers not only military but also moral, political and cultural aspects.
The Armenian people have made significant contributions to the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Our people have given the world many prominent generals and marshals whose names are specifically written in the Yearbooks of History.
Many generations of the Soviet peoples proudly remember the commander of the legendary Marshall Ivan Christophorovich Baghramyan, who took part in the liberation of Ukrainian, Belarus and the Baltic states, Marshal of Marshaki Khriturovich, Anganov, who is significant. He contributed to the construction of defense lines, Colonel-General Artem Artemovich Ayvazyan, who was one of the leaders of the army. More than 100 Armenians were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
The future double hero was born on March 15, 1913, in Shushi, an Armenian family. During the battles of the Great Patriotic War N. C. Stepanyan carried out 259 combat tasks. He sank the enemy's 13 ship and 1 mining, 3 patrol ships, 1 demining, 2 torpedo boat and 5 vehicles, as well as damaged the enemy ships. And this is not a separate case of selflessness and heroism of the sons of the Armenian people at all during the war against Nazi Germany. Armenia's losses in the Great Patriotic War were the largest per capita among the USSR population.

But even after all the trials, our grandparents managed to face and crush the world evil, fascism, thus proving the efficiency of the Soviet military and economic system. The victory was achieved due to the unity of the multinational Soviet people, the Armenians, the Russians, Belarusians, the Ukrainians, the Kazakhs and the representatives of other peoples fought to shoulder.
This became a bright symbol of brotherhood and solidarity, which helped to survive the most difficult years. 80 years have passed, but the significance of victory has not extinguished, which remains a symbol of justice, endurance, and unity, which is especially important today for the world in difficult times.
Armenians and Russians are not just allies, we are historic brothers who have gone through the fire of war and build it unexplained friendship. We must all be able to honor and multiply the historical and spiritual heritage of our ancestors.
