The Chairman of the Central Committee and the head of the Yerevan office of the Council of Ministers discussed issues of development of cooperation


The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee, Argishti Kyaramyan, today received the newly appointed head of the Yerevan office of the Council of Europe, Maxim Longange. This is reported by the Central Committee. Argishti Kyaramyan congratulated the guest on assuming that responsible position and expressed confidence that his previous activity in the Yerevan office of the Council of Ministers will contribute to continue the mission in Armenia more efficiently. The Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee noted that the reforms carried out in the field of human rights protection in Armenia, in the law enforcement system, are of a continuous nature, and highly appreciated the support provided by the Council of Europe to these processes. In the case of the RA Investigative Committee, it has contributed to the development of professional capacities of human resources, the inclusion of CC investigators in the working groups of various programs for the development of international cooperation in the fight against crime, etc. The head of the Yerevan office of the Council of Europe, Maxim Longange, effectively evaluated the cooperation with the RA Investigative Committee, the consistency demonstrated by the Committee in bringing its main functions in line with European standards. He emphasized that they are interested in continuing the support provided to the reformers of the judicial and legal sphere implemented in Armenia. During the meeting, the 2023-2026 activities of the Council of Europe for Armenia were discussed. issues related to measures related to the functions of the RA Investigative Committee arising from the program, the strengthening of structures for the protection of human rights in the armed forces, the fight against torture, discrimination against women, as well as the development of the professional skills of investigators in the fields of European Court case law enforcement and the possibilities of cooperation in other directions arising from the needs of the RA CC.
