Within the framework of his working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Eduard Hakobyan met with the delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance in the Islamic Service of the Customs Service, in Tehran. This was reported by the State Revenue Committee.
During the meeting, the possibilities of expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries were discussed between the two countries for facilitating the control process. In this context, in particular, the reinforcement of systematic and sustainable cooperation between the customs units at the Armenian-Iranian border checkpoints, facilitating the movement of goods and vehicles, simplification and optimization of customs control and formulations. The parties expressed readiness to implement joint efforts to implement cargo transportation more quickly and easily, including truck service capacity, taking the current reconstruction of the farm crossing point.
Clear agreements have been reached on the full implementation of the preliminary electronic data exchange system between the two countries. The concept of the introduction of the "simplified customs corridor" on the Armenian-Iranian border was discussed as an innovative approach to accelerating the process of customs clearance and release processes, the operational range of which will be clarified in the near future. The participants of the meeting also touched upon the issue of mutual recognition of the authorized economic operators and established their readiness to start negotiations in this direction and sign a memorandum of understanding.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the results recorded and expressed mutual readiness to continue the active cooperation at both leader and expert levels. At the end of the bilateral meeting, a protocol on the results of the meeting was signed.
