The daughter of Vagif Khachatryan, who was returned from Azerbaijani captivity, published a new photo where the father and daughter are smiling. The photo was taken in Yerevan, after Khachatryan's surgery and rehabilitation.
In 2023, Vagif Khachatryan was arrested at the Lachin Corridor checkpoint while being transferred to Armenia accompanied by the International Committee of the Red Cross, while leaving for treatment for heart surgery.
After that, he was transferred to Baku, where a judicial process was carried out against him.
Unlike the footage from the court in Baku, where he was presented exhausted and with health problems, in this photo, Vagif Khachatryan is already in the recovery phase and is visibly in a more stable condition.
After his return, according to medical records, he received the necessary professional treatment and underwent surgery, which was due to his previous heart health problems.
The process of his release took place as a result of exchanges and mediation efforts between the parties, in which international humanitarian organizations were also involved.
He is now with his family and continues to make a gradual recovery after a difficult experience that included both health and psychological challenges.
