Beyoncé launches SirDavis Whiskey in collaboration with Moët Hennessy

Beyoncé is launching SirDavis Whiskey, which builds on Queen Bey’s family legacy of Japanese whiskey and is named after her great-grandfather, Davis Hogue.During Prohibition, Davis Hogue was a farmer and moonshiner, hiding bottles in the hollow limbs of cedar trees for friends and family to open and enjoy together. Continuing that legacy four generations later, Beyoncé has created an American whiskey defined by its unique flavor and blend.
“I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when I drink a quality whiskey, and I wanted more people to experience that feeling,” Beyoncé said. “When I learned that my great-grandfather was a moonshiner, it felt like my love for whiskey was destined. SirDavis is a way for me to pay tribute to him by bringing us together through a new shared heritage. In partnership with Moët Hennessy, we have created a delicious American whiskey that respects tradition, but also gives people the opportunity to experience something new and unique in the category.”
Paying homage to the singer’s home state, this whiskey is finished, blended, and bottled in Texas—cementing a first-of-its-kind venture for Moët Hennessy, as it is the first spirits brand the company has developed entirely in-house in the United States. Also, it changes the face of whiskey as you know it, as Moët Hennessy has invited one of the world’s most distinguished master distillers, Bill Lumsden, to lead the whiskey’s creation.
