Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan and Hasmik Hakobyan, a member of the National Assembly, have a joint visit to the Abovyan Penitentiary. The Ombudsman's Office informs that the representatives of the Defender's Office also took part in the visit.
Anahit Manasyan and Hasmik Hakobyan, accompanied by the head of the institution Heghine Martirosyan, toured the conditions of keeping the custody of those who were deprived of women and juvenile liberty stored in the institution.
Afterwards, a counseling meeting was held with women stored in the institution, including foreigners. The goal was to collect the problems raised by them. Persons deprived of liberty, among other things, have voiced the possibility of change of security, the right to health, and the legal assistance provided by the Public Defender's Office, and the frequency of visits and frequency of visits and a number of other issues.
The issues raised by those deprived of liberty will be analyzed detailed by the Defender, the relevant proposals will be submitted to the competent authorities.
