The United States plans to almost halve the budget of the State Department almost halved. Wp

US President Donald Trump's Administration plans to reduce the US State Department's budget almost halved, including the United Nations and NATO, writes Washington Post, citing the State Department's memorandum, which is available to the publication.

Last week, the memorandum of the State Department said that the budget reductions, which were previously proposed by the Government and Budget Office (OMB), will be $ 28.4 billion in all USAID operations. It is 27 billion (48%) less than the level of funding for 2025 by Congress, the newspaper writes. According to the proposed budget, the USAID, which was previously separate, will become a part of the State Department.

According to the memorandum, humanitarian aid will be reduced by 54%, and world healthcare will be funded by 55%. It is proposed to reduce the financial support of international organizations by almost 90%. This includes the termination of the financing of the United Nations, NATO and 20 other organizations. At the same time, the investments will continue for a number of other organizations, including for the International Atomic Energy Agency and International Civil Aviation Organization. At the same time, the funding of international peacekeeping missions will be completely reduced.
