CBS News CEO Wendy McMahon reported on Monday, noting that he did not agree with the further steps of the company. This decision was made at the moment when the Mother Organization of CBS, Paramount Global, is considering a possible settlement of Donald Trump.
Trump has sued CBS, claiming that the interview taken from his former competitor Kamala Harris was installed in favor of "60 minute" program. CBS News has denied accusation, but Paramount is currently negotiating the possibility of resolving the case, while trying to get a government approval with Skydance Media.
Makmahon said in his resignation. "It has become clear that I and I have different ideas about the future. It's time to move forward with the new leadership. " He was the second leader, "60 Minutes" producer Bill Owens, who had left, disagreeing with Trump. CBS News President Tom Siberovsky and Local CBS leader Jennifer Mitchel will currently directly report to CBS joint director George Chxie.
