Iran's armed forces are limited to retaliatory strikes against targets used by the US for attacks on Iranian territory. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araghchi.
"Our armed forces are striking targets in self-defense that the US has been authorized to use to attack civilian ships and violate the ceasefire," he wrote in X. Araghchi warned that any aggression against Iran will be met with a decisive response, and that the US and Israel will not be able to achieve with a new war what they could not achieve before through sanctions and military operations.
On Wednesday evening, the US Central Command announced that it had struck a ground control facility on the Iranian island of Qeshm after intercepting missiles and drones fired from Iran. Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, an elite unit of Iran's armed forces) reported missile and drone strikes on the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, as well as a US air base in the regional country, in response to US strikes on a military facility on Qeshm Island. Later, the US military announced that it had successfully intercepted several Iranian drones that were trying to attack US forces in Kuwait.
