June 1 is International Children's Day. The decision to hold Children's Protection Day was adopted in 1949. By the Women's Democratic Alliance International. The holiday was first celebrated in 1950 and has been celebrated every year since then.
The origin of International Children's Day dates back to 1925, when representatives of various countries gathered in Geneva, Switzerland for the first World Conference on the Welfare of Children. In the post-war years, caring for the health and well-being of children around the world was very important.
During the war, many of them lost their relatives and became orphans.
It was in 1949 that the representatives of the women's conference held in Paris called on all people to fight for peace. Armenia ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1990, and in 1996 the Law of the Republic of Armenia "On the Rights of the Child" was adopted.
