Some time ago, in a conversation with us, the former Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Major-General Arshak Karapetyan mentioned that since Nikol Pashinyan likes to communicate on WhatsApp, record people, keep transcripts, he saved them, and since the authorities crossed the "red lines" a long time ago, he will soon start publishing them. And the other day, Karapetyan published several "samples" of correspondence between him and Nikol Pashinyan, stating: "It is a fact that (Pashinyan-ed.) was informed about the impending war. It is a fact that he never officially applied for help." Privately, back in August 2020, being the advisor to the RA Prime Minister, he conveyed to Nikol Pashinyan his worries about the "unprecedented activity of Turkish and Azerbaijani diplomats and military figures on international platforms".
Karapetyan wrote: "There is an impression that the political decision to go to war against Armenia by Turkey and Azerbaijan has already been made, and now coordination with the military is underway. The main obstacle is Russia. Our diplomacy is passive. Diplomats and military leadership should be activated in terms of contacts with Moscow."
The former Minister of Defense also published his letters addressed to Nikol Pashinyan during and after the war, which were again related to the need to regulate relations with Russia, as well as to address the CSTO regarding Azerbaijani encroachments on the territory of Armenia. However, all those warnings were ignored by Pashinyan. Vagharshak Harutyunyan and I prepared the document, we gave it to you to apply to CSTO under Article 4, which CSTO should have entered immediately, but you took it and changed it to Article 2, for which we fought with each other.
However, I recently learned that you did not even send the document with that article to the CSTO, that is, we did not apply to the CSTO, we did not use our opportunity. In 2022, you just applied to the CSTO, the latter is meeting in Armenia, a document is being prepared for the CSTO observers to monitor the situation at the borders, and then they should remove the Azerbaijanis from our territory.
You don't sign that document. You didn't apply to the CSTO because your deals would have failed," Arshak Karapetyan says, addressing Nikol Pashinyan and adding that "this is going to fly, he made an agreement with the Americans two days ago, they will give him political asylum, for which he handed over our guts."
