A number of US embassies in the Middle East have been temporarily closed

Against the background of the situation in the Middle East, a number of American embassies have temporarily suspended their work.

The US embassy in Lebanon has announced that it will be "closed until further notice". The message states that all regular and emergency consular receptions have been canceled, and additional information about the resumption of work will be provided later.

Earlier, on Monday, the US also closed its embassies in Kuwait and Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Yesterday, the USA also evacuated its embassy in Jordan after explosions were heard in the surrounding areas. At the same time, US government employees in Oman were prohibited from visiting the city of Duqm and its vicinity, as well as the area within a radius of 100 km from the city of Salalah.

To remind, the United States and Israel attacked Iran. Tehran retaliated with missile attacks on American military facilities in the Middle East. The operation took place against the background of the failure of negotiations on Iran's nuclear program.

As a result of the Israeli-American attack, the supreme leader of Iran Ali Khamenei and other high-ranking officials were killed. A 40-day mourning was announced in the country.

The Vice President of Iran said that the duties of the Supreme Leader will be temporarily performed by the President, the Head of the Judiciary and one of the members of the Council of Guardians of the Constitution.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has announced the launch of the "fierceest offensive operation". The US president warned Iran to refrain from retaliatory strikes.

Against the backdrop of Middle Eastern tension, the Armenian Foreign Ministry announced yesterday that there is no information about the number of Armenian citizens among the victims.
