Earlier, it was mentioned that as a result of large-scale evidentiary and other procedural actions, including many searches, about two dozen interrogations carried out during the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings being investigated in the Yerevan investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the identity of one of the persons who prepared the assassination of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia was revealed.
"In particular, it appears that factual data has been obtained that since 2024 M.M. living in a foreign country formed a group with at least 4 persons, in connection with the performance of the political and state activities of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, with the intention of illegally depriving the life of the Prime Minister. the murder, after which, in the mentioned outfit and masked, they recorded and distributed a video message addressed to the RA Prime Minister, during which they issued threats.
In addition, on May 16, 2026, persons intercepted the data (video) stored in the system of an internet site not intended for general use, transmitted live using computer communication means, and by publishing the video message, obstructed the pre-election campaign before the RA National Assembly elections to be held on June 7, 2026," the RA Investigative Committee said in a statement.
A public criminal prosecution was initiated against M.M. in accordance with Article 43-155, Part 2, Clauses 1 and 8 of the Criminal Code (preparation of murder by a group of persons in connection with the performance of his state, political activity by that person), Article 211, Part 2, Clauses 2 and 5 (obstructing a group of persons from carrying out propaganda in other ways).
An arrest decision was made regarding the latter.
The RA Investigative Committee announced that criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the video containing threats and insults against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
According to the report of the Investigative Committee, a preliminary investigation is being carried out in connection with the cases of preparation of murder by a group of people, computer sabotage and illegal circulation of firearms and munitions.
In the video spread on the Internet on May 18, a group of masked and armed persons threatened and insulted the Prime Minister.
