Latvia's new Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs (United List) has announced his desire to cut trade ties with Russia, but admitted that exceptions would be needed in certain areas. "He emphasized that he continues to insist that business ties with Russia should not be maintained," the publication states.
The task of finding a solution to this issue will be entrusted to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Baltic Republic, Baiba Braja. At the same time, the Prime Minister admitted that exceptions can be made in certain areas. He noted that Latvian pharmaceutical companies will not be able to train quickly, so this issue will be discussed separately with the heads of pharmaceutical companies.
Earlier, members of the Latvian Sejm (Parliament) voted to approve the Kulbergs government, which is made up of United List, National Alliance, New Unity and the Union of Greens and Farmers. Sixty-six members of the parliament supported the new cabinet, and 25 were against it.
