With the start of the new school year and the increase in passenger and motor vehicle traffic, the South Caucasus Railways Company reminds the residents of the Republic of Armenia of the need to strictly observe safety rules in the railway infrastructure.
"At the same time, special attention should be paid to the safety of children. Railway lines are not a place for games, walks and entertainment. The lines are allowed to be crossed only in designated and appropriately equipped places, observing all safety requirements. Parents whose children attend schools located near railway lines are advised to regularly talk to their children and remind them of the dangers of being on railway lines, on railway bridges, near rolling stock and other objects of the railway infrastructure," the company said in a statement.
At the initiative of the South Caucasus Railways, a course on safe behavior on the railway has been included in the school curriculum. However, the knowledge children acquire requires constant reinforcement, so parents also play an important role in shaping responsible behavior among schoolchildren.
SCR also appeals to drivers of motor vehicles, urging them to strictly observe the rules of driving at railway crossings. It is necessary to cross the tracks only in designated places, carefully follow road signs and traffic light signals, as well as comply with the requirements of regulators. “Safety on the railway depends on everyone. Observing simple rules helps to preserve life and health, especially children,” concludes the statement released by the organization.
