On August 27, a hooliganism incident occurred in Yerevan. The Davitashen Department of the Main Department of the Community Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia received operational information that at around 18:50, near the Akba Bank on Tigran Petrosyan Street, when Yerevan residents Vrezh S., 18-year-old Hakob A., 17-year-old H. P., and another friend of theirs were walking, an argument broke out between a young man of about 20 years old and his friend over the issue of staring at each other for a long time.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyanafter that, the mentioned young man, his friend, 19-year-old Yerevan resident Erik G., and about 6 young men, made an appointment and met near one of the buildings in the 4th district of Davitashen for further clarifications.
G. According to Shamshyan, after the latter met at the aforementioned place, Erik G. and his friends, displaying a disrespectful and openly contemptuous attitude towards the public, disturbing the peace of the people with curses, beat up Hakob A., H. P., Vrezh S. and a certain Levon.
One of the suspects hit Vrezh S. and Hakob A. on the head with a baseball bat he had, causing bodily injuries. Then they got into the BMW car operated by Erik G. and fled.
A baseball bat and blood-stained traces were found at the scene. According to the photojournalist, the Davitashen police department received information that a group of emergency doctors transported Vrezh S. and Hakob A. to the “Armenia” medical center with head injuries. Documents were drawn up in the Davitashen police department on the facts of the incident, which were transferred to the investigative department of the Ajapnyak and Davitashen administrative districts of the Yerevan city investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
