China-US air transportation has dropped sharply

The capacity of China and Hong Kong to the US aircraft decreased by almost a third in the last two weeks. The reason is the temporary termination of the system of tax benefits for the US worth low-value apostles, the "de Minimis" system. This is a serious blow to the major Airlines of Asia, who earned a great profit from rapid growth of electronic trade.

The decline in cargo transportation is more significant for companies like Cathay Pacific, Air China and China Southern, up to 25% of which are formed from cargo transportation. According to Rotate, the capacity of cargo transportation has decreased by 26% compared to the previous year. Some airlines have already started to move their directions to Mexico and Latin America, Reuters reports.

China's shein and Temu platforms that greatly enjoyed low-cost shipping, now looking for sea transport alternatives to reduce access to the US market directly. Experts warn that the long-term decline of air transportation without "de Minimis" can deepen.
