Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Commander Ismail Qaani announced that Israel faces defeat if it does not withdraw from South Lebanon. This is reported by "Al-Jazeera".
"If you don't leave the south of Lebanon on your feet, the year 2000 will repeat itself, when you fled this land in shame. The choice is yours," Kaani wrote on social networks.
In May 2000, Israel unilaterally withdrew troops from southern Lebanon, ending Israel's 18-year occupation of the region and strengthening Hezbollah's position in Lebanon.
Israel's military operations in southern Lebanon were a central topic in the US-Iran talks held in Switzerland, mediated by Pakistan and Qatar. Iran has announced that it will refuse future negotiations with the United States and will not open the Strait of Hormuz as long as Israel continues its military operations in Lebanon.
Later, according to the statement of the mediators of Pakistan and Qatar, the Iranian and US delegations agreed to create a group in Lebanon to prevent conflict situations in that country.
