Cuba and the US have communicated about bilateral relations, but a full dialogue has not yet begun

Cuba and the United States have communicated at this time about their bilateral relations, but a full dialogue has not yet begun. Carlos Fernandez de Coscio, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, told CNN about this.

"The US government knows that Cuba has long been ready for meaningful dialogue on our bilateral relations. At the moment, we have communicated, but it is still not possible to say that we have started a bilateral dialogue", the diplomat noted, adding that the communication took place at a "high level".

At the same time, the deputy minister emphasized that Havana is not ready to discuss the issue of making changes in its constitutional system. He also added that Cuba does not pose any threat to the United States, "does not oppose, support or sponsor terrorism", and is also ready to cooperate with Washington in the fight against drug trafficking.
