Russia is perceived as a good partner and friend for Indonesia, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry representative Nanang Fadillah told RIA Novosti.
Today marks the 76th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between Russia and Indonesia.
"Naturally, on the occasion of this 76th anniversary, I am convinced that the friendship and cooperation between Indonesia and Russia will continue and be strengthened in many fields. I have discussed this a lot with my friends and family. Here in Indonesia, Russia is perceived as a good partner and a good friend," Nanang Fadillah told RIA Novosti.
According to him, Indonesia "always remembers" the support of the USSR in the struggle for independence of Jakarta.
"Many people still remember that. It has become a certain basis of our friendship and cooperation. We never forget old friends and we always appreciate it," added the interlocutor of the agency.
