A group of Palestinians in need of medical assistance crossed the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt for the first time since February 2025 through the Rafah checkpoint. This was reported by the Egyptian "Al-Cahira al-Ikhbariya" TV channel.
According to its information, the victims were accompanied by their relatives, and all of them will be sent to the hospitals of the North Sinai province after a short medical examination on the spot. There are no data on how many Gazans entered the Egyptian territory on the first day of operation of the Rafah border crossing.
However, the TV channel noted that according to preliminary data, about 22,000 Palestinians need treatment abroad.
