The United States has stolen $ 1 million in whiskey

In the United States, a large batch of about $ 1 million was stolen from Westland Distillery's warehouse, AP News reports.

According to the factory representatives, the thieves used false documents to access the warehouse and steal 12,000 bottles of alcohol. Among the stolen items was almost half a year of Garryana 10-Year-Old Single Malt whiskey, the production of which lasts for more than ten years.

"This is a painful and quite unusual situation," said Jason Moore, manager of the factory.

Experts note that stolen whiskey has a highly collective value. A limited amount of Garryana was recognized by the author's Whisky Advocate by the world's third best whiskey.

The Sheriff's Office of the Scaffold District is currently investigating the incident. Law enforcement officials have not yet commented on this issue.

Representatives of Westland Distillery said that the company has already taken additional security measures and focuses on fulfilling its obligations to customers. Despite the significant financial influence, the distillation plant belonging to the French group Rémy Cointreau will continue to operate.
