Qatar may have moved the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) ship through the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the US-Iranian conflict, Bloomberg reported, citing ship tracking data.
"A tanker carrying liquefied natural gas from Qatar appears to have passed through the Strait of Hormuz, the first export from the region since the war with Iran began. At the beginning of this month, the ship "Al Kharaitiyat" loaded at the export facility of Ras Laffan left the strait and is now in the Gulf of Oman," the message states.
The message mentions that Pakistan is the ship's next destination.
The escalation of tensions in the Middle East has practically stopped shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. This is the main route for the supply of global oil, petroleum products and liquefied natural gas (LNG). As a result, fuel prices have risen in most countries.
