Trump is going to sign an executive decree canceling sanctions against Syria. White House

White House Spokesman Caroline Levit has signed that Trump will sign an executive decree on the US sanctions on Syria today, which will make a big difference in the US-Syrian relations, NBC News reports.

"This is done to promote and support the path of stability and peace of the country. The order will eliminate sanctions against Syria, while maintaining sanctions on former President Assad, his supporters, drug trafficking, such as Sais and related organizations, as well as Iranian mediators.

In May, Trump met with Syrian leader Ahmed Ash-Sharaa in Saudi Arabia.

Prior to that, he stated his intention to cancel sanctions on Syria.
