Zhanna Andreasyan met with the sectoral ministers of Turkmenistan

Within the framework of the International Conference of Ministers of Culture held in Ashgabad, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan had a number of meetings with the sectoral ministers of Turkmenistan. This is reported by the RA Ministry of Education and Culture.

At the meeting with the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Atageldy Shamuradov, a number of issues aimed at improving bilateral cooperation were discussed.
 
During the meeting, the parties particularly referred to the restoration of the Armenian church in Turkmenistan and the tomb of the Turkmen emirs in Armenia. The minister of KGSMS emphasized that the Armenian side is ready to send a group of restoration specialists to carry out an on-site study and start the works.

Emphasizing the potential of bilateral cooperation, Minister Zhanna Andreasyan offered to consider the possibility of holding a series of concerts in Turkmenistan as part of the jubilee events dedicated to Charles Aznavour's 100th birthday.

Zhanna Andreasyan's next meeting was with Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Bayramgul Orazdurdayeva.

Zhanna Andreasyan presented the reforms carried out in the field of education of RA, referring, in particular, to the introduction of the new standard of general education, the use of digitalization and new technologies, the organization of training in the direction of the ICTM.

Speaking about the successful experience of Armenia, the minister also presented the school meal program in the 1st-4th grades of regional schools, which interested the minister of Turkmenistan.

The issue of implementing scholarship programs in the field of higher education was also discussed, particularly emphasizing the development of direct cooperative ties between the universities of the two countries through the implementation of student and professor exchange programs.

Within the framework of higher education and science reforms, the Minister of Higher Education and Science of Armenia referred to the works aimed at the integration of higher education and science, presenting the Academic City program, the opportunities to be included in joint scientific projects with foreign scientists.

The Minister of Turkmenistan thanked for the meeting, noting that his country is also in the stage of educational reforms, and in this regard, general trends of development are noticeable in the areas of education, improvement of infrastructure and other directions.

The Minister of Education of Turkmenistan also noted that they are interested in Armenia's experience in the development of education, in particular, in the activity of TUMO centers in the field of non-formal education, in the introduction of the dual system in the field of professional education.

The parties also touched upon a number of other issues of mutual interest.

Zhanna Andreasyan also met with Saparov Allaberdi, the chairman of the State Committee of Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan. Prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of sports were discussed at the meeting.

The Minister of Sport and Sports emphasized that the development of the sports sector is highly important in Armenia and offered to consider the holding of joint training sessions with the participation of athletes from both countries, the exchange of experience, especially in weightlifting, judo and a number of other sports. At the meeting, reference was also made to a number of major international sports tournaments held in Armenia in recent years.

The minister informed that Armenia is preparing with great responsibility to host the 10th jubilee sports and cultural games of Francophonie in 2027, ensuring that sports infrastructure meets the required standards.

The Chairman of the State Committee of Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan wished success to our country in organizing the conference of the Council of Physical Culture and Sports of the CIS countries in Gyumri, the sports capital of the CIS, which will take place at the end of May this year.
