Denmark has agreed with EU leaders that Greenland's issue will be included in the agenda of the informal summit on Monday. Danish Prime Minister Mete Fredericksen stated this at a community meeting in Brussels.
"There is a lot of strong and broad support in Europe, of course, it also refers to the borders of the Kingdom of Denmark," he said.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that Greenland should join the United States. He threatened to set high trade customs duties on Denmark if it did not give up on the island. During his first presidential period, Trump offered to buy Greenland. As the authorities of Denmark and Greenland rejected this idea.
