Without US help, Ukraine will weaken in negotiations with Russia. Jake Sullivan

Jake Sullivan, US President's National Security Adviser, has stated that Ukraine's position in possible negotiations with Russia may weaken if Washington abandons statements of support for Kiev.

This is the opinion of the representative of the White House in his speech at the 92NY cultural center in New York, Kommersant reports.

Earlier, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller emphasized that the issue of possible negotiations, as well as their dates, should be decided in Kiev without external pressure.

"I think that the current and the next administration should show a willingness to help Ukraine and provide it with everything necessary for its defense. This will be a lever for achieving a good result at the negotiation table. If we just go and say that without this we will go to a deal, Ukraine will not be in the best position in the negotiations," said Sullivan.
