The blockade of Iranian ports by the US military has been more effective than bombing, and Washington will quickly return to this tactic if necessary. US President Donald Trump announced this in a conversation with reporters at the White House on June 22.
"If you must know, I think the blockade was more effective than the bombing. And we are ready to do it again, I would say in 15 minutes," he said, commenting on the situation around Iran. Then he asked US Defense Secretary Pete Hegsett, present at the White House, whether it is really possible to restore the blockade quickly. "The American military is ready to act right now, if necessary," answered the head of the Pentagon.
The United States and Israel went to war against Iran on February 28. On June 14, officials from the United States, Iran, and Pakistan approved an agreement between Washington and Tehran aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East.
