China supports the new BRICS security agreements, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced during a meeting with the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey Shoigu. "In terms of security, this is an important topic of our interaction and mutual understanding.
We are ready with our Russian friends to strengthen our cooperation with our other partners through today's BRICS platform, discuss current issues and security challenges, conduct in-depth dialogue and conclude new agreements to protect not only our political security, but also the security of our neighboring regions, so that the whole world becomes more stable and secure, and so that the chaotic world around us becomes more stable," Wang Yi said.
"We are closely cooperating and promoting the growth of BRICS so that our association becomes a real vanguard in uniting the efforts of the Global South. This is our common interest," said the Chinese minister.
