Yesterday, December 9, a tense situation was created in Lori marz. Since morning, a large number of residents of Metsavan and 2 neighboring settlements of Tashir community blocked the interstate road leading from Tashir to the border of Georgia and demanded that the 8 km section of road leading from Metsavan to Tashir be repaired.
As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports, the residents of the city took a similar step three months ago, and at that time they were able to convince them to open the road, instead they did very minor repair work.
A number of officials arrived at their request and asked to open the road, promising that the governor of Lori would come to Metsavan in the evening and talk to them about the problem. In the evening, the governor came and promised that within 1 week the road will be temporarily improved, and in the spring, capital repairs will be made.
