After Trump's election, cautious optimism is expected regarding Cyprus

Turkish media expect new developments in the Cyprus issue after the re-election of Donald Trump as US President.

The Turkish press is of the opinion that the Turkish-American negotiations on the issue of Cyprus will gain new momentum. All this is connected with the personal relations between the President of Turkey and Donald Trump. In that sense, "Cautious Optimism" is predicted.

In this regard, it is pointed out that if the former US authorities rejected any negotiations with Turkey regarding the issue of Cyprus, then the situation may change in the case of Trump.

"It is believed that Trump's presidency is likely to maintain US support for Cyprus. However, the changing atmosphere in the world, especially in the issues of Turkey and the Middle East, may create new opportunities or challenges for Cyprus," the publication states.
