The Iranian president did not find it appropriate to participate in COP29 in Baku

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian will not go to Baku to participate in the UN COP29 climate summit. This was reported by the Iranian mass media, referring to the member of the information council of the government.

"After decades of genocide, the Zionist regime, Israel, has been invited to the COP29 UN climate change summit in Baku and is preparing to sign environmental protection documents with hands stained with the blood of innocent people. One of the important points of this meeting is that it is being held in Baku, a country that has close relations with the Zionist regime and has come under a lot of criticism, especially in the last year. However, the issue is beyond blaming Baku. in fact, this summit is related to the United Nations, and Azerbaijan just accepts it," the article stated, questioning how logical Iran's participation in COP29 at the presidency level is under these conditions.

The article emphasized that many world leaders are not going to participate in this summit organized by Baku, for example, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, US President Joe Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin. The President of Brazil, Lula da Silva, and the President of the European Union Commission, Ursula van der Leyen, have also announced that they will not visit Azerbaijan.
