The "Armenia" alliance condemns the arrest of the leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" party Gagik Tsarukyan as part of an open political reprisal, as well as the actions carried out today in the enterprises belonging to the members of the latter's family.

The current regime's way of turning the power structures into a political club and oppressing the opposition is beyond any legal logic and reflects the fears of the ruling regime.
Violation of property rights and economic terror are a direct blow to the country's investment climate and economic security.
It is obvious that with such actions, the ruling regime is trying to hide the crisis of legitimacy and to eliminate all possible sources of resistance on the way to the realization of anti-state goals.
We express our support to Gagik Tsarukyan and all persons persecuted for political reasons.
We invite the attention of all international actors to the post-election developments in Armenia and call for clear assessments to prevent the strengthening of the authoritarian regime in Armenia.
