Azerbaijan MP Sabina Aliyeva does not see a problem of discrimination in prison against the former Minister of State of Artsakh, businessman, philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan. He said this in a conversation with RIA Novosti.
It should be noted that on September 18, the former minister of state of Artsakh, businessman, philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan sent a public message to Azerbaijan's human rights defender Sabina Aliyeva, who earlier expressed her willingness to support the protection of the rights of Armenian convicts.
Vardanyan raised a number of medical and legal issues related to the conditions of detention of Armenian prisoners.
"Meetings were held with Armenians, including Vardanyan, during the preliminary investigation (with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, ed.), during court proceedings, as well as after being convicted and transferred to a penitentiary," Aliyeva said.
He stated that during those meetings, no bias against the Armenian prisoners was found.
"The realization of their rights, access to information through television, books, magazines and other means, as well as the necessary medical and psychological service, is ensured," the ombudsman of Azerbaijan noted.
