In recent years, the national political association "HayaKve" has always been at the forefront of painful milestones for our country, highlighting the problems and speaking out about the dangers. And here, "HayaQue" presents a political bid to participate in the upcoming national elections. A few days ago, the congress of the "Armenian Vote" party took place, where the charter and political program were approved, the governing bodies of the party were elected and an official decision was made to participate in the 2026 national elections.
With this step, in fact, the political wing of the union was formed. During the congress, Menua Soghomonyan was elected the head of the political wing and the chairman of the party board. In a conversation with him, we are interested in what became the impetus for creating a political force and getting involved in the race for the upcoming parliamentary elections, after carrying out large-scale public and civil awareness activities.
"The incentive is the created situation. In the created situation, we clearly see that the political line of the current authorities leads Armenia to new concessions, to new losses, new humiliation, leads to dictatorship. The stimulus, as such, is not a specific event, but a chain of events that leads to that logic. Taking into account that during this time we have accumulated enough political capital, we have created infrastructure, we have regional offices in the regions and in Yerevan, we have become more mature, we believe that we will have our contribution in an effective opposition unification to advance the Armenian-centric political agenda, that is why we decided not to miss the next political tool, the opportunity to remove the authorities, namely the elections to be held on June 7.
We will take part in those elections, but we will be in such a format that we will never allow polling of votes and will contribute to the change of government, we are going with the agenda of the change of government," said Soghomonyan in an interview with "Past". He emphasizes that their goal in the short term of the political dimension is the change of power. "Without a change of government, we cannot create a viable state, which is our ultimate goal," concludes Soghomonyan.
We are trying to get the answer to the question that concerns many people from Avetik Chalabyan, the coordinator of the "HayaVote" national civil union: will there be cooperation with other political forces? In response, they want to cooperate with all those citizens and groups who are ready to share their ideology and support them. "In the same way, we are ready to cooperate with all those political organizations and parties with which we will be able to find ideological commonality.
Our main goal is to remove the current regime from power, to form a new national government and through it to get Armenia out of the crisis situation. It is important for us to cooperate with those forces that have a clear idea of moving Armenia forward, not busy praising the past. If the past was good, the present would not be so sad and problematic. We are open for cooperation, we are in regular discussions and negotiations with various forces. We hope that in the near future it will bring a certain result, and we will be able to announce the formation of the alliance," says Chalabyan in a conversation with "Pasti".
Becoming part of the national government, what will be the priorities of the "Armenian vote"? "First, peace, the security of our country must be protected by force, that is, we must be able to protect the security of our country and people through the accumulation of force. Second, the accumulation of power requires sustainable economic development and public solidarity. Third, public solidarity is impossible without social justice, so our third task should be to strengthen social justice in our country as a public alliance, otherwise it will never be possible to achieve public solidarity, without it neither economic development nor security is possible.
The chain begins with the fact that it is necessary to strengthen people's awareness that our state is for citizens and provides justice for them. By the way, not only social justice, justice in everything: judicial, legal, from the point of view of serving the motherland. In all matters, citizens should feel that the state treats them fairly," concludes our interlocutor.
