Considering the weather conditions and to ensure your safety and that of other road users, the Patrol Service urges you to drive exclusively with winter tires. This is announced by the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
We also remind that from November 15, driving with winter tires is a mandatory requirement.
Specifically, the operation of a vehicle will be prohibited if:
- passenger cars and trucks with a permissible maximum weight of up to 3.5 tons are not equipped with winter tires,
- the residual tread depth of winter tires intended for driving on icy or snow-covered road conditions is 4 millimeters or less under those road conditions during operation.
Administrative penalties apply for violations of the prescribed requirements.
The Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs urge adherence to traffic safety rules, acquisition of winter tires with permissible tread, and demonstrating conscientious and law-abiding behavior.
The mandatory requirement for driving with winter tires remains in effect until and including March 31.
