The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that it continuously monitors the operations and drone launch sites of the U.S. Central Command's Task Force Scorpion Strike unit and is ready to respond to any new aggressive action against Iran, reports Mehr.
According to the IRGC, Iranian intelligence services are tracking the unit's activities, which was created and deployed in Western Asia to employ a large number of disposable LUCAS strike drones.
These inexpensive American drones were developed based on the Iranian Shahed-136 model. The U.S. expects to expand its drone strike capabilities with their mass deployment and increase the workload on Iran's air defense systems.
The IRGC has announced that its Aerospace Force’s electronic warfare and air defense units use modern systems for detecting, tracking, and intercepting drones to identify and neutralize the threat.
Iranian specialists continue studying the drones’ structure, their usage characteristics, and launch sites. The IRGC stated that changes in flight tactics, increased payload, or using different platforms for launching will not allow drones to evade Iranian defenses.
According to the Corps, the launch sites and related infrastructure facilities connected to deploying these strike systems are under surveillance and are being assessed from a defense perspective.
The IRGC also warned that organizers, commanders, and executors of any actions against Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as countries providing their territories, will bear responsibility.
