The Bundestag called on the EU to develop a common position on nuclear deterrence

Europe should form a united position regarding nuclear deterrence. Thomas Rovekamp, head of the Bundestag's Defense Affairs Committee, President of Germany's Fetter, stated this in an interview with the BNS news agency in Lithuania.

"The issue of nuclear deterrence should remain on the agenda of Europe. If the USA, which provides Europe with a "nuclear layer", decides that Europe should implement it with its own forces, we should prepare our united position", he said.

According to the head of the Bundestag committee, it is necessary to accept such a position "not in conflict or in opposition to the USA, but in agreement with them".

Rovekamp is convinced that Europeans can cross this road and confirm their priorities.

"Europe has all the necessary means, both technological and financial, to ensure nuclear deterrence," the politician said.
