Lavrov stated that Russia does not impose itself as a mediator between Iran and the USA

The situation between Iran and the United States is explosive, and Russia does not impose itself as a mediator, but the situation in the Middle East is not indifferent to it. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, stated this in an interview with the RT channel.

"At this moment, we are not imposing ourselves as a mediator for Iran, Israel or the United States. During our contacts, we simply discuss the current situation. Iran is our close partner, our neighbor. It is not one thing for us how the situation will develop. What's more, it is explosive not only around Iran, but also for the entire Near and Middle East," said the minister.

Lavrov added that there are "too many slow-acting mines" in the region, which are only waiting for "an unsuccessful step to be taken" on them.

"The Iranians and the Israelis know that we are ready to offer our services again in terms of facilitating the implementation of the agreements reached, in the hope that they will ever or if they are reached," he emphasized.
