Russia will raise the issue of seizure of ships by EU countries within the framework of the G20

Russia, within the framework of the "Great Twenty" (G20), combining efforts with the partners of the countries belonging to the world majority, will give a legal assessment to the "piracy" seizures of ships by European countries, which create economic risks, and will demand that these practices be abandoned. Marat Berdiev, ambassador on special assignments of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, G20 and ATES issues, informed RIA Novosti about this.

During the conversation held within the framework of the Cloud X Day conference, he noted that due to the seizure of ships by individual EU countries, the risks to the transportation of energy carriers and the safety of critical infrastructures are increasing. According to the diplomat, this makes the issue important for all G20 countries.

"The discussion will be sharp, complicated and uncomfortable, first of all for Great Britain and France. However, we will definitely raise these issues and together with the world's majority countries, we will demand to abandon such piracy practices," the ambassador told the agency.
