Reuters: The United States has transferred 500 million dollars to the Venezuelan authorities in exchange for the sale of the oil shipment

The administration of Washington has completed the transfer of 500 million dollars to the authorities of Venezuela, which was obtained as a result of the sale of oil consignments from the republic. This was reported by the Reuters agency on Tuesday, referring to a US official.

"Venezuela has officially received the entire $500 million from the first sale of Venezuelan oil," the official said. He assured that these funds should be "distributed in accordance with the interests of the Venezuelan people, at the discretion of the US government."
It is not specified what volume of oil was sold.

The official added that Washington intends to transfer the proceeds from the sale of Venezuelan oil to a special fund created in the United States. Then, with the permission of the American side, these funds will be transferred to the authorities of the republic.

At the end of January, the Vice President of the Republic, Delsey Rodríguez, announced that Venezuela received "the first 300 million dollars out of 500 million" from the sale of oil. According to the publication of the agency, the US has now paid the remaining 200 million dollars.
