The British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca announced on January 29 that it will invest 15 billion dollars in China by 2030 in order to expand the production, research and development of drugs, Reuters reported, noting that the announcement was made during the visit of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to China.
"AstraZeneca's expansion and leading position in China will help the British manufacturer continue to grow, supporting the creation of thousands of jobs in the UK," Starmer said of the deal.
Starmer became the first British Prime Minister to visit China in eight years. In Beijing on January 29, he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and expressed his willingness to build bilateral relations aimed at promoting growth and security.
