This was reported by Axios, citing sources. According to the portal, the crown prince contacted Trump against the backdrop of the escalation of the situation by the Houthis. The US president has refused direct military assistance to Saudi Arabia, noting that the US priority at the current stage is confrontation with Iran and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, against the backdrop of the escalation, the Pentagon on Thursday sent the commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Admiral Brad Cooper, to Saudi Arabia for consultations.
