By the decision of the Yerevan Council of Elders, Yerevan Trans CJSC will be liquidated. This is reported by the Yerevan Municipality.
The Municipality notes that the liquidation of the company is a logical continuation of the creation of the Yerevan Traffic Management Center community institution.
The goal of the new center is to make traffic and public transport management more data-based. In this direction, the creation of a Unified Data Repository has already been launched, where traffic-related data received from the city's digital systems will be centralized.
It is also planned to calculate traffic flows using cameras at different times of the day and in different months of the year. According to the Municipality, Yerevan's traffic light infrastructure has been almost completely inventoried. It is planned to create a new traffic light system, and before that, adjust the existing traffic lights in order to reduce the city's traffic load.
