The Czech president has allowed peacekeepers to send to Ukraine

Czech President Petr Pavel considers it possible to deploy Czech peacekeepers in Ukraine, which will ensure the maintenance of the peace agreement as part of international forces. He stated this in an interview with the news agency čtk.

"If peacekeeping units are deployed in Ukraine, the Czech Republic should be part of them," the agency quoted the statement of the head of state. Pavel justified this by the fact that the republic is an active participant in the peace process and supports Ukraine since February 24, 2022.

According to the President, the possibility of participating in the peacekeeping units of Czech troops will depend on the conditions of the peace agreement in Ukraine. He suggested that international forces can be deployed in the demilitarized zone "along the line of contact."

Russia, as Pavel, recently rejected "the option of deploying any foreign forces in the Ukrainian territory, but now it is possible that there is a certain change of position."
