If Trump wins the elections, US-EU relations will deteriorate sharply. Politico:

A possible victory of Donald Trump, the candidate of the Republican Party in the US presidential election in November, will sharply worsen relations between the United States and the European Union, due to the inability of the community to take on the obligations of providing aid to Kiev. This opinion is given in an article in the European edition of Politico.

According to its estimates, the possible victory of Trump, who "has called into question the further support of Kiev from the United States, will instantly bring the American-European relations into crisis." Europe does not have the opportunities and financial resources to "fill the gap that would be created by the refusal of the US to help Ukraine", the newspaper emphasizes. In addition, Trump's victory will encourage some EU countries, particularly Germany, "to focus on strengthening their own security, rather than continuing to help Ukraine."

Thus, according to a study by the European think tank Bruegel, Germany is unable to secure sufficient funding for its defense budget, and it will take decades for the country's military stockpiles to reach 2004 levels at current purchase rates.
